This second installment of the Wilbarger County Series joins Sheriff Wade Adams and Lizzie Fletcher as they investigate murder. Wade and Lizzie attend a dinner party near the small community of Rayland, Texas. One week later, one the guests is murdered.  With his only female deputy out on maternity leave, Sheriff Adams makes a quick decision to deputize Lizzie. That decision proves to be good for the department but damaging to their relationship. The Sheriff and his deputies follow every possible lead to no avail.  Lizzie happens to overhear a conversation that gives them the break they need. With little time to spare, Sheriff Adams and his team rush to prevent yet another death.

What do your plans for future projects include?
I have a story apart from the Wilbarger County series. It will be set in Canyon, Texas and at West Texas A & M University.

Who would you cast to play your characters in a movie version of your book?
That’s a tough question. I had particular faces in mind when I wrote the characters, none of whom were current actors. I supposed Emma Stone would be a good fit for Lizzie Fletcher. I think Bradley Cooper would be cast as Drake Wagner. Matthew McConaughey would be an awesome Wade Adams. I think Rachel Adams would be great as Megan Ford.

How important are names to you in your books and how do you choose the names?
I choose the names primarily because I like the sound and whether or not they fit the character. One of my great-great-grandmothers was named was Mary Elizabeth Fletcher. While doing research into our family history, I discovered that she was sometimes called Lizzie. The character name of Lizzie Fletcher was born.

Where is one place you want to visit that you haven't been before?
There are so many places I’d like to visit. Ireland is the first place that comes to mind. It would be amazing to visit the home of some of my ancestors.

What’s something fun or funny that most people don’t know about you?
I don’t know how many people would think it’s funny, but I tend to be a prankster.  Lately, I’ve been channeling my prankster energies into my writing.
